Can the kitchen open onto the living room?

Yes. I would take that wall down and add a counter. Proposal coming today.

Great, thanks.

— FAQ

Questions about renovation design online

The questions people ask before renovating with a design.

Is a design worth it for a small renovation?

A design sets what to demolish, what to build and the order of the works. In small renovations it avoids rework and helps you get quotes from builders.

Does the design include the works?

No. The design is the drawings and the specifications. The works are contracted separately, with the design in hand. If you want supervision, ask for it in the brief.

How much does a renovation design cost?

Publishing is free. Each professional sends their own proposal, with a price and a timeline. You pay per stage, as you approve the deliveries.

Do I need an approved design to renovate?

It depends on what changes. Renovations that touch structure, facade or services usually need professional liability. Describe the renovation in the brief and the professionals tell you what applies.

How does the professional understand the property without visiting?

With photos, a video, the measurements and the plan if there is one. A visit, when it helps, is arranged directly with the professional.
